Show WALLS ENTIRELY OF FOSSILS. Unique Building Material In Church Near Niagara Falls. There Is a chilrrh In tho quiet little lit-tle village of Mumford, nenr Niagara Kails, which Is composed entirely of fossils. At first glance tho walls appear ap-pear to bo constructed of rough sandstone sand-stone smeared with un uneven coating coat-ing of gritty, coarse plaster, but a closer view recals tho error of this first conclusion. Instead of plaster tho eyes behold traceries of delicuto leaves, lace work of Interwoven twigs, bits of broken branches,, fragments of mossy bark and splinters of wood, all preserved against the wasting of tlmo and decay by being turned Into tho hardest of flinty limestone. As a matter mat-ter of fact, every block of stone In the four walla Is a cluso'j -contented mass of dainty fossils. |
