Show Wholesale Poisoning. One Hundred and Fifty Persons Poisoned in Mendon on Monday, July 25th, by Eating Ice-Cream. As Iscustoiuaiy in the town of Mendon the people turned out en-masse to c.'lobratc Pioneer Day. About Tip. m Ice-cieam was seived to the crowd. At night about eight o'clock the wllole body of the people were taken violent ly sick bilnglng on vomiting, purging blood and cramps In the stomach. It was soon dlscoveied that they weie subjects of metallic poisoning which had come off the Inside of the freeer, Medical aid was summoned by telephone, and Drs. P.nklnson, Caldervvood, Phillips and Paiklnsou Ji. were soon in attendance at-tendance and were up all nlghl, visiting fiom house to house, giving antidotes. anti-dotes. It Is thought that none will die from the elfects of the poison, which seems almost miraculous. Gieat excitement prevailed when the Uue condition condi-tion of the unfoitunatc people became known. The dance in Mendon stopped at once that those who weie able could caie foi the sick. Kverj thing possible is being done to relieve the sufferers.
