Show Mendon Musings. MKNixtN, May 22.- Twin daughters came to the home of Mr. and Mra.Jas. Illrd, Friday the tilth. All concerned doing line. Joseph Hardman Is now at work building him a new fence, which Improves Im-proves his place to such si great extent that the people who have been out of town and come back again hardly know that It is the same place. He Is talking about having It painted the colorof his home, which Is yellow and red. It Is true that the little town of Mendon is situated in a hole, but when that big storm swept over the valley It was lucky for the dear old place, because be-cause there was little or no damage done. The storm Just swept out the top of It. The people here are Improving their cemetery by enlarging tho fence. They aic also hauling gravel on the streets to Itll up some of the unc en places. They are getting veiy Industrious and this town will soon be as good as the best. Mendon Is making great headway In one particular and that Is music. They haetwoexcellent teachers come over every week -Miss Lcttlo llusby and Miss Burns, of Logan. Bach has a large class, twenty four In all. The pupils are Improving ery fast. Mr. Win Ilarratt Is now prepared to start on his new home. The foundation founda-tion Is all laid and the lumber hauled. Ho expects It to cost about $3,000. It is going to be one of the llnest houses In town. It was stated in one of j our late papers pa-pers that all the horses In Cache county coun-ty were sold, but a railroad contractor from southern California collected two carloads In two dajs, so that shows theie were a few left He bought live head In Mendon and paid from !)( to $ir0a head for them |
