They all spoke highly of the de ceased, and his usefulness in the early settlement of this country, he being one of the first blacksmiths who came to Salt Lake city In early davs. A great deal of money has been spent during the past few months by the Bar M cattle company of Blue Creek. The company owns about three thousand acres of tillable laud along the creek, mostly planted in alfalfa. al-falfa. Much of this land has been broken up and piepared for the planting plant-ing of beets. A large lcservolr has been built to store the waste water of the cieek that It may be used ir the irrigating season. It is thought there will be an ample supply of water for all the land under the reservoir. The water of Blue creek being somewhat mlncralled the company has piped the water from a beautiful spring in the mountains near by for culinary purposes. It Is anticipated that quite a settlement will be formed on Blue creek. Some parties are talking of erecting a building for a mercantile business. It Is stated that the S, P. R. R. will run a spur up Blue cieek alley to haul the beets to the factory.
