Show ANOTHER FL1NER- ALATWELLSV1LLE Samuel Olive Brought H Down from Butte. H City will Soon be Depop- H ulated Says writer. H Wellsvlllc, A pi II 2 Wo aic sorry H that we have to record another H funeral, that of Samuel Olive, who H was accidentally killed at Butte, Mont., by falling down a shaft of ono bundled feet, an account of which H was printed in one of tho Butte H papers. The joung man came to H Wellsvlllc many jcars ago, tho family H coming from England here. The H father and mother both died many W years ago leaving three children, H Thomas, Anna and Samuel, orphans, W to work their way tluough the world. W They got along by honest toll and H they aro held In great i espect by the H pcoploof Wellsvlllc, which was made H manifest today by the great number 9 that attended tho services over ttic H remains of Olive. People from Hyrum W and Logan also camo to pay their re- W spect to tho departed. The speakers were J. II. Maughau, H Hcbcr Parker, James Williamson, W. m W. Hall, of Logan, and David Mur- mm ray. All spoke, very, highly of W "Sammy" as ho was known by those m who know him well. Thomas and W Anna Olivo have lived at Pocatcllo, H for a number of years, but they come m often to their old home and visit with m friends and relatives. W Quite a number of our joung men W and some mldlcagcd ones went north- ward to Blackfoot to look at the coun- W try with tho intention of purchasing H so mo land and making themselves H homes. Tho parties were successful H and bargained or bought several H hundred acies and they havo brought H such reports that Wellsvlllc may bo H depopulated in the near future. H The children's operetta on Friday H ovcuiug was lino. The parts were well rendered and tho joung ladles H who had It In hand deserve great H cicdlt. Tho costumes wore well got- H ten up foi the different pans. We H must mention Miss Walters, Miss H Poppleton and Miss Ames. As the H three queens they did somo lino work, H and Miss Ester Allen did somo good H work at the piano. The scenes and H situations wcie good as well as the H singing. H Not much plowing has been done H as yet, but If the weather will keep H tine as It has been today wo will bo H plowing soon. I understand that H Wellsvlllc will put In 7 or 8 hundred H acres of beets this spring. Surely H that ought to bring us a railroad. H |
