Show 4 The Loop, or Nothing People Say "Journal Plan is a Fake and that They Already Have the Loop, in Fact, II hum, Nov, a.--The people of I Ilyrum do not take kindly to the .loinnul's lallioad plan, it has been discussed at length, consldcied from every standpoint, and turned down. In the first place Logan Is side tracked -tho "Journal's plan" is to side t,iaek us on a side track, or rather to give us a spur from their side track. We arc very grateful to Logan for this little consideration but. wo don't want It. Ve think we aic Just, as good as Lo-garf, Lo-garf, we fell just as big as Logan and just as Impoitant, and as long as we eat, breathe, wear clothes mid pay tuxes wc arc going to tint ourselves on a ptr with Logan, for we think wc, are Just as civilized us she Is. The fact of the matter U the Journal's plan Is too far out of the question. There Is no certalnlty about It ever being "a go," and If lb, ever did go, wo could not hope for any more than wc have got now, a spur. Another important tiling to consider con-sider Is that we can get the loop, within with-in one month, and wc can get the Journal's plan (bum as If is) In one year, and perhaps not until we get the mlllcnlum. We want the loop,' we would bo satlslled with tho "Jerk watcr",half passenger and half freight that runs from Cache Junction to I Preston, but wo will not consent, to the Journal's plan, nor any other but the loop. This Is the Ilyrum peoOles sentiments. Ilyrum Notes. Mr. Isaac (julniipy was In town last Tuesday. Miss Rebecca Morris, of Salt Luke city, was a visitor heie last Monday. She came to visit tier cousin Mrs G. Wright. Grading on the lallioad will be completed com-pleted In one week and by the 1.1th of this month the "putlci" will be heard In our town. The funeral of Octavlus Smith took placo Ih the second ward meeting house last Sunday at 11 a. m. The speakers weie Charles Nielsen, W. A. McRrlde, James Unsworth and A. M. lsraelsen. Many good things were said of the departed. The Ilyrum pavilion gives regular dances every week and from rcmaiks made by the patrons, tt Is one of tho cleanest places in Cache county. Thff owners have recently put down a haul I wood maplt. Iloor, Hoodlumlsm Is not allowed and the dances are conducted In proper style. |
