Show Alto Cut Out. School District Dismembered. Another An-other Franchise Wanted. Tho County Commissioners held a special session Saturday, but took no otllclal action other than to divide tho Alto school district among other districts near. Newton, Riverside, Benson and Smlthtlcld school districts each got a small sllco and the Alto district is no moie. Thprc is In the hands of the trustees trus-tees of the Alto school district tho sum of $102.14. Tho commissioners divided this up among the other dls-distrlct'In dls-distrlct'In proportion as the number of schoolchildren in each of salddlssrlcts bears to tho number of school children chil-dren In all o( the said school districts" named above. Newton gets $71.28; Riverside, $15.30: Henson, $20.01; Smlthlleld, $250,52. Another Franchise, O. Fred Wright appeared befoie tho board and asked for a right of way over the roads of the south end of the county. It appears that the Union Electric Light Co. of Ilyrum, wants to furnish Mlllvlllc, Paradise and Wcllsvllle with electric lights. The matter was laid over until the next regular meeting. Commissioner Darlcy, speaking for Wcllsvllle Is quoted as saying that the Ilyrum company hasn't sufllcicnt power to give Its own city good lights, he prefers pre-fers to havo a company come In that can ghe lights of sufficient quality that ell lamps will not be needed, r |
