Show Rexburg Election. Correspondent Writes of This and Bonding for Waterworks. IIkxiiuhu, Idaho, April".- Kcxburg has just had an election for city officers of-ficers at which the following wcro elected: John L. Jacobs, mayor; A.L. Hlackburn.cleik; David Osburn, police Judge: Ross J. Comtock, treasurer: O. E. l'eteison, city engineer. Councilman: First ward Wlllard Johnson, K.ia Christenscn. Second ward Hyium Dcwsnup, O. lileil. Third ward-W. C. Holley, John H. Squires. The matter of bonding the town for a system of water works was voted on and carried with more than a two-thirds two-thirds majoilty. Tho bond Is for $110,000 and will be sulllclcntto furnish water for three blocks along tho Main street. Rexbuig needs a system of water works vey much as wo have no protection from Iho at present. The llrst ward has Just llnlshed the bassement or tlio $10,000 new meeting house. Wc hopo to have It completed by next fall. Tho farmers aro busy preparing their land for planting. Many are drilling In. their beets now. The weather has been very favorable for putting In crops this spring. Business is just fair but no one Is complaining. The good weather has cut down the attendance at school as many of the students havo gone out to work on the farms. Quite a number of our town's people havo gone down to conference con-ference In Salt Lake. |
