Show Mr. Arthur Porter, keeper of the Cache Stake tabernacle giounds enters en-ters complaint against the unthinking people of this city and other towns who make this place a dumping ground for watermelon rinds, boxes, paper saels, wrapping paper, etc. On special occasions that bring Into the city huge numbeis of people.there Is an extraordinary accumulation of such Hash. Many families make the tabernacle grounds a convenient place In which to eat their meals, and all surplus with Its attendant mess Is left scatteied over the grass. The keeper says that he has many times lequest-ed lequest-ed the people to bo considerate r.nd take with them their litter, but they give no heed. This is a matter that should have the attention of the police otllcials. The grounds arc not as attractive at-tractive as they might be but there is no reasonable excuse for making them worse. The people should either be debarred entirely or else forced to observe ob-serve the rules of decency and order. The park is a convenient and delightful delight-ful place for visitors, but let them take advantage of it with the uudei-standing uudei-standing that a violation of certain rules will lesult In theh detention and payment of a tine. |
