Show School Election. The school election passed oil voiy finitely and with the tesult that three republicans and two democrats will compose the next Hoard of Education. A large vote was polled, showing the Inteicst taken In the matter, at least by thoteandldates, some of whom got out and nistled till the polls closed. A surprise was sprung In the Thhd waul where Frank W Thatchcr.dcm-ociat, Thatchcr.dcm-ociat, beat Geoige Cole. At the last city election this waid was carried by the republicans by a small vote, and at the teccnt county election Clerk Larsen carried It by twenty-live. It was generally expected that Cole would pull thiough with a fair majoilty, but Thatcher put In good work all day and won out by eleven votes. In the Fourth vvatd, Loreno Hen. son, the tegular republican tnmlnce was fought openly by City Chairman John Harrett, who left no stone unturned un-turned that could defeat the man he was after. Haitctt bus a certain Col lowing and during the day the result looked doubtful. However, "Hen" has a few friends In the Fourth ward and managed to win out by twelve. It was generally conceded that McLaughlin Mc-Laughlin would wln.and that John T. Thaln.Ir., was known to have a walkover walk-over even before the voting was begun asthewaids are strongly tcpubllcan.
