In view of the fact that in the near futuic theio will be two large gatherings gather-ings of people heie in Logan upon two different occassions, the Sunday school convention, which will be In session three dajs, and the big gathering on June 1st, It is incumbent upon tho citizens of Logan to make preparations prepara-tions to caro for the large numbers that will be present on these occasions. occa-sions. People who can possibly ai-range ai-range fora spare bed at their houses should do so without fail, that all may be provided with places to sleep, thereby retaining the good name that Logan has always had as offering filst class entertainment. Hotels and boarding houses will not be equal to the emergencies. Tiik Rkiuhlican has just discovered discov-ered an outlet for tho surplus power the Hercules company may have before be-fore long. It is a scientific fact that caterpillars cat upward and onward, not through any Instinct teaching them where food may be found, but because of the fact that the rays of the sun contract the muscles of these pests in such a way that they climb upward Involuntarily, even against their wills, if possessing such a thing. This has been demonstrated by placing a largo elcctrlo light at the foot of trees containing worms, and this, in itself, Is ample to bring the worm down to starvation and death. If the Hercules people arc inclined to exercise any philanthrophy toward Logan and Cache county they might go Into the busincssofcradlcatlngthc caterpillars.. No other one thing would so quickly rcstoicthcm to tho esteem and consideration con-sideration of a people now riled against them.
