Show TORNADO IN TEXAS. Death and Desolation Mark Path of the Storm. A tornado in northwest Texas, Thursday night, killed Mrs. Mary Wag-loy, Wag-loy, her daughter, Annn, and George Anthony nt Moran. A dozen persons woro 3ovoroly but not fatally Injured. At Putnam ono man was killed, nnd ono woman wns Injured. Their names havo not yet been learned. A nogro cabin wns swept Into tho Brazos rlvor five miles abovo tho Toxas & Pacific railroad crossing and throe negroes ne-groes were n, vned. A wreck t .In was blown from tho railroad track noar Croscont and Geo. Soinmcr8 and William Apple, negro laborers, woro drowned. Twenty houses were wrecked at Moran and half n dozen at Putnnm. Hundreds of head of llvostock aro reported killed In Shacklcford and adjoining counties. Crops were badly Injured by tho wind, rain and hall. A tornado near Star Mountain, In Mills county, destroyed Ave houses, killing George Mason, and blowing away ono ot his children. Tho child Is not expoctcd to llvo. C. E. Behooker's houso was blown nway and ono child killed and other members of his family Injured! Tho house or Mr. Rnyburn was dostroyod, Injuring four of tho family. ' At Holllday station the storm demolished demol-ished tho school houso and many other buildings. Sam Horton. teacher of tho public school, was fatally Injured, and Honry Riggs suffered a broken arm. |
