Show The Strongest Soldiers. From a recent English medical Inquiry In-quiry Into the physical status of the various classes ot military it was found that tho low-sized, broad chested chest-ed artillery men were tho strongest and healthiest in the service. On tho other hand tho tall men of the Guards had tho dlseaso tendencies ot the overgrown and consumption and other pulmonary troubles woro notlcoably common. Whon narrow chested, tho men of tho Guards nnd heavy cavalry very soon broko down. Indeed, the bulk ot tho medical ovldence seemed to show that the small, well-sot men tho typical Atkinses were the Ideal soldiers, though not bo imposing or martlal-looklns as the gigantic Guards. |
