H A. F. Cardon petitioned the city to H appropriate for the purchase of H souvenir books of the city. It was H referred to the committee on finance. H J. R. Edwards petitioned to be H allowed to pile building material on H the street in front of his new building H on Main. It was granted. Ho also H asked an investigation of whether a H billiard hall would be allowed In Ills H proposed building. It was referred to H the committee on municipal laws with H the city attorney. H Mauritz Maurltzen petitioned to be H allowed to build a railroad track H accross 0th West between Center H and 1st North streets where he has H purchased land on which to make a H coalyard. It was referred to the H commltteo on streets. H The petition of Mrs. A. C. Barrett H to have a smoke house at the rear of H the Hanks Hotel removed, asanul- H sancc, was referred to the Board of I Health. The City Drug store was granted a I jhles;ilo liquor license and Wm. II. H Hurst, a retail license. I Dr. Goodrich was allowed the I privilege of placing a sign in front of I his residence. The committee on finance recom-H recom-H mended that the report of the auditor H and treasurer be accepted, which was H done. H Tlie committee on cemetery was 'granted an appropriation of $75 for H needed improvements. H A resolution to pave the north side of Center street from the Lincoln Hotel three blocks west, the walk to be six feet wide, was adopted. H A resolution to pavo the cast sldo H of South Main between Center and 1st H South with a walk eight feet wide; H . 1st South between Main and 1st.
