A petition is now before the board of county commissioners of Weber county asking for a franchise to build an elcctilc road through the Ogden canon to Huntsvillc and Eden. Wc hope this franchise will be granted and the road be built. It Is'our opinion opin-ion that when another road Is built Into this valley It will be by tho way of the Ogden canon. Frank Allen of Paradise was a caller call-er yestcrdaj-. Mr. Allen Is now engaged en-gaged in feeding sheep at Penrose, Rox Elder Co. He speaks very highly of the country around Penrose and thinks when the sugar factory Is built at Garland that section will build up faster than any other part of the State. As indicated in our last Issue the result of the recount showed that Allen did not make tho gains ho had hoped for and the case so far as he was concerned was dismissed by Judge Hart. When it came to calling In witnesses for Larsen's defense it was found that scvcial of them had returned re-turned to their homes in other states, w hero they should have been on election elec-tion day and It became apparent that not enough Illegal votes could bo produced pro-duced to oveicome the gains Farrell had made In the recount. Tho Judge therefore Issued an Joider annulling the certificate given Larsen and allowing al-lowing Farrell to ictain possession of the otllce. The case will likely be appealed ap-pealed to the Supreme Court of the state. Promptly at 12 o'clock yesterday tho now county otllccrs took possession posses-sion of their new olllccs. The commissioners com-missioners organized with R. II. Hendricks Hend-ricks as chairman. An application was received fiom John Dalilc to rent the county farm, and Clerk Farrell's bonds were approved.
