Three men, each armed with two revolvers, this afternoon held up a deputy sheriff sher-iff and two employees of tho J. 0. White Construction company at Parr Shoals, 20 miles from here, nnd took from them $10,000 In currency, representing repre-senting the pn)ro'l of the company, which Is building a huge power dam. Tonight 700 employees of tho company, com-pany, with tSo sheriff and deputies of four counties, with bloodhcundB, are hunting for the robbers. J. C. Joyner, tho deputy sheriff who nccompanled the pay clerks, resisted re-sisted and was shot In tho thigh. Ills wound Is not serious. Tho robbery occurred ust tiftsr Paymaster Mahar with F. Bulltman, assistant cashier, and Deputy Joyner hnd taken tho money from tho express olllce at Parr Shoals. To reach tho construction company's offico, where tho money wa3 to be distributed, they had to follow tho railway track thru a deep cut. As tho threo wero pass-lug pass-lug n box car which was standing on tho railway track, ti trio of men, their faces blackened to disguise, them, stepped out and covered them with revolvers. Deputy Joyner reached reach-ed for his gun and tho robbers opened open-ed lire. Joyner fell, shot through tho thigh, and tho others yielded. Tho robbers took the sack containing tho money and escaped Into tho woods. The Whlto Constructing company hnB offered n rownrd of $G00 for tho i capture of tho threo bandits.
