Show INFIRMARY FOR . CITUCHOOLS Movement Is Started Whereby School Children Can Have Free Dental Examination. Tho matter of whether or not Logan Lo-gan City Is to have h public infirmary infirm-ary Is now a question for tho Logan City board of education to decide. For weeks past John A. HqpdrlckBcn has been trying to work out a system sys-tem whereby the city school children could get a free exam'.natlon of their teeth at regnlar Intervals and whero tho children are not able to pay tho cost of tho filling of tho teeth, thnt tho dentists of the city do tho work gratuitous. Tho Logan Dental Society So-ciety has been anxious for a long time to have such a move launched and at onco took hold of Mr. Hen-drickson's Hen-drickson's proposition and gladly vt-fered vt-fered tho services of each dentUt in the city for an hour each week, to make these examinations and g'vo the child the desired information regarding regard-ing the conditions of his mouth. This plan Is being worked to good advantage In some of the larger cities of the Wilted States and is accom-pl'shlng accom-pl'shlng wonderful results. For in-stnnco in-stnnco tho work of the public dental Infirmary has opened, there Is a perceptibly per-ceptibly decrease In tho percentage of contngeous diseases prevalent among the schools. If an office can bo fitted up with an engine and chair at one or more of the most cdntrnlly located schools and each dentist devote an hour a week at the work, it would not bo long before the entire school enrollment enroll-ment could bo given tho examination and where the children were unable to pay for any service rendered, the wqrk could be done free to the pa tient, wh'ch Is the plan the dejitlsts expect to pursue, providod t'" school board furnishes the proper equip-nfent. equip-nfent. Tho Idea Is a good one nnd will undoubtedly receive tho support of every member of tho board. |
