Show Mendon Whisperings. MENDON, May n.-Tlie Wood orchestra or-chestra went to Newton Friday evening even-ing and gave a dance. The house was crowded. The baseball and Social club basketball teams also went and expected expect-ed to come back with big honors, but, owing to the rain, the basketball team did not play and there were only seven Innings 'of baseball played, the Mendon Men-don team winning the game. v Miss Annie HughC3 has returned home from Peva, Summit county, where she has been teaching school all winter. The city council held a meeting in the city hall Monday evening. Thomas Thorp, of Wellsvllle, has been calclmlnlng the meeting house this week. Miss Edna Baker has returned home from Summit county where she has been teaching school. Mrs. Agnes Bulst and son William have gone to Garner to visit with Ellck Bulst and wife. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hardman Sr. and Mrs. Mary Ann Burnett have been spending several days with relatives rela-tives and friends in Smithrlold. Mrs. Maria Richards has returned home after spending a month. In Salt Lake city. Mr. Wm. Kidman has recently circulated cir-culated a petition against consolidation consolida-tion and obtained the signatures of 10S legal voters in Mendon precinct. |
