Show Fighting The House Fly The following rules for "fly time,1' now being circulated by the New York board of health, will do for this locality as well: Keep files away from the sick, especially espe-cially those III with contagious disease. dis-ease. Kill every fly that strays-lnto the sickroom. Its body is covered with disease germs. Do not allow decaying material of any sort to accumulate on or near your premises. All refuse which tends in any way to fermentation, such as bedding, straw, paper waste, and vegetable matter, should be disposed of or covered cov-ered with lime or kerosene oil' , Screen all food. Keep all receptacles for garbage carefully covered and the cans cleaned or sprinkled with lime or oil. Keep all stable manure In vault or pit, screened or sprinkled with lime, kerosene or other cheap preparation. See that your sewerage system is in good order: that It docs not leak and Is up to date and not exposed to files. Pour kerosene Into the drains. Cover food after a meal; burn or bury table refuse. Screen all food exposed for sale, Screen all windows and doors, especi- ally the kitchen and dinlngroom, If there Is a nuisance in the neighborhood, neigh-borhood, write at once to the health department. It Is believed that this method will result In a great diminution In the number of deaths from the hot weather weath-er diseases now know to be tram-mlssable tram-mlssable by files. |
