Show Regular Meeting Of City Council At the regular monthlymccUng of the city council. the heads of the several sev-eral oommlttees were Instructed to come prepared next meeting to report an estimate of the needs of their d3-partraents d3-partraents In order that It'mlght be used In making up the tax levy. Some dissatisfaction has been expressed ex-pressed over thesprinkllm:of streets and It was asked by Councilman Johnson John-son that First West running south from the college be sprinkled for four blocks. The matter of purchasing hose and extending laterals at tho cemetery was taken up but nothing definite was decided. The water works committee was asked to go ahead and extend water maiu in district No. 23 for six blocks. This district Is located in the Fourth ward. The new ordinance for the closing of candy kitchens, ice cream parlors, restaurants, shooting galleries, and bowling nllejs passed Its second reading read-ing Tills ordinance as It now stands provides that If any of the above named places are found open between the hours of 6 a. m. and 11 p. m. they shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and the penalty shall not exceed a $o0 line or thirty days In the city Jail, or both line and Imprisonment. The deputy recorder's bond was fixed at $1,000 and compensation $12 60 per month |
