Show A Musical Treat Given Thursday It Is a pity that while, melodrama and moving pictures attract the Logan Lo-gan crowds, only a small audience will usually go to a good concert audi as was itlven by the A..C. and tabernacle choirs last Thursday evening. It was music that anyone could enjoy and every music lover In Logan should have been there for tho program .was well planned and excellently rendered. The fresh young voice of Miss Montrose Mont-rose was heard to good advantage In the solo work of Gallia, while the well trained chorus rang out clear, sweet and strong. Equally pleasing and beautiful was the music of Niels Catkin Catk-in Christmas Eve. Here Mrs LlhnarU with her superb contralto pleased all by her solo work. The chorus did perhaps Its best work In the closing number .for it brought out impressively the solemn Joy of Handel's wonderful hallelujah chorus. Solo numbers on the organ and lolln were given by Mr. Smurthwalte and Mr. Splcker, the former playing Lc-mare's Lc-mare's Andanttno and tho latter placing plac-ing tho back Gounod's Ave Maria with his usual grace and skill. On the whole It was a memorable concert In Logan musical annals and much credit is due M r. That slier ror his. Interesting efforts to make It a success |
