Show A SLEEPER FOR THE SLEEPY. To be obliged to take the night train up from Salt Lake City is often the unhappy lot ot Logan people and others living In the valley. It Is not conducive to our happiness, good nature na-ture or strict observance of the third commandment to be dumped at Cache Junction at :t a. m. and have to seek a bed or sit about for three or four hours. If the dump happens to come in summer when morning gilds the skies at an earlv hour, the waiting Isn't unbearable but at any other time there Is nothing to do but cultivate culti-vate that patient endurance which Is godlike. The curse could easily be removed If the O. S. L. would run a tourist sleeper to be switched at the Junction and go on to Preston with' the morning train. Many get beds at the Junction and they would gladly pay the sleeping car fee, or double that amount, for the joy ot being able to sleep undisturbed from Salt Lake to Logan. From Salt Lake to the Junction is too short to make it worth while to take a sleeper and the beds to bo secured at the latter place cannot can-not be occupied long enough for a satisfactory sat-isfactory snooze. The through sleeper Is the only solution to the problem and if tho railroad cannot run It on every train, let us have it once or twice a week and wo will call It a godsend. god-send. In tills way Logan people could put in a long day In Salt Lake, finish off with the theatre and a peep Into the Louvre and then arrive home, happy hap-py and cheerful, after seven or eight hours ot peaceful slumber. A petition peti-tion from tlie Commercial Club, or those who use the train, to tho proper authorities might possibly bring this priceless boon to Cache Valley. |
