Show TAFT CLUB AGAIN. The cdnstltutlon and bylaws of the Tatt Republican club &ifi so broad and liberal that any'falr and honest republican repub-lican can subscribe to them and become be-come a member. Hundreds of republicans, repub-licans, when they understand the true Intent of the organization, will fall In to the ranks of the club. One of the most Important featutcs of the constitution consti-tution is the emphatic declaration against"bosslsm"or clique rule, which Is so un-American that It should bo wiped out of existence. All the bosses and leaders that are needed In any party arc the precinct and county committees. They should be headed by their respective chairmen who should be In touch always with their respective committees and never arrogate arro-gate to themselves the right to act without the consent of the majority of their committees. The candidates for all appointive oftlces should'be decided de-cided and acted upon by them. To Illustrate, if a postmaster Is needed in a precinct, the recommendations of that precinct committee should be the guide for the one having tho power to appoint. When this Is the case, the congressman, whose recommendations are generally accepted by the administration, adminis-tration, can expect always to have the support of those precincts, that he has recognized In his appointments. Otherwise it cannot be expected that the members of the committee with the voters ot the precinct will accord him that hearty support which Is essential es-sential to nominations and elections. The by-laws passed four years ago in the Cache county republican convention conven-tion should be the constitution for the republicans ot this county. They aim at giving a square deal to all so that every young man of necessary qualification qualifi-cation has the right to aspire to any ofllce iu the gift of the people without securing the personal favor and sanction sanc-tion of three or four self appointed dictators. The quicker this Is understood under-stood the sooner will our party be put on such a safe foundation that success may be assured. When people have their liberties they feel' contented; when put under domination they feel uneasy and discontented. Let the republicans clean up their political business within their party; recognize each other as having rlghts.and above all, respect the constituted authority authori-ty In the party and get down close to the people and then there will be harmony har-mony In our ranks and not before. |
