Most Important of the new specimens speci-mens in the museum Is the large basalt ba-salt sarcophagus of Hor-mehet-bltl, which was purchased from tho Egyptian Egyp-tian government. It weighs six tons. On It Is tho Inscription In hieroglyphics hieroglyph-ics that Its occupant was tho "royal treasurer, tho royal friend, the overseer over-seer of the palace, tho overseer of tho royal chamber, honored by Ptah Seker." Eight vessels of sliver and gold, bearing tho name of Ramescs 11., havo also been added In tho collections, as well as tho whip and the scep'er, and other InBlgnla of authority carried by an ancient ruler. |
