Show Instead of being, as they often arc, offensive offen-sive to the eye, and a detriment to public health, vacant lots are easily and Inexpensively converted Into places of beauty. It will cost but little to keep them In order. The man who Is able to own a vacant lot ought to be able to keep it In fairly decent shape. The fact Is, ho will stand In his own light If he falls to do so, because a clean, well-kept well-kept lot Is more attractive than a lot In a stato of neglect, and, If put on the market, would sell for more. Rubbish, In any event, should not be dumped on unoccupied property. The sanitary oillcers should see to that. They should also sec to It that weeds and grass are cut on all vacant lots in residence portions of the city. It would be a good plan if every owner of a vacant lot In Logan would devote a little time, or a small amount of money, to the work of cleaning up and beautifying, In a small way, the unoccupied area. Such a policy could do much good. Why not make the vacant lots of Logan just as many little parks? Wouldn't that add much to the beauty of the city? Certainly It would, and it would enhance the value of tho property, too. |
