Show Apostle George A. Smith Addresses The Saints at Cove COVE, July 27, Meeting at Cove Suuday evening, was largely attended. Tho meeting was called at the suggestion sug-gestion of Apostle George A. Smith. George B. nendrlcks of the B. Y. College was the first speaker, no spoke on the faith that should constantly con-stantly be exercised by the saints of God. He gave a few examples of his experiences as a student In the cast and spoko ot tho success of the Utah students who go east to study. B. A. Joseph Smith, he said, as he grew took advantage of his opportunities and thus became the great mind that he was. He emphasized empha-sized the fact thatlt was through tho children that the present generation expected lo realize its possibilities. Bishop J. O. Larsen expressed his appreciation of the visit of tho broth-cm broth-cm and endorsed all that had been said. After tho meeting closed a general handshaking took place. Cove celebrated Pioneer Day In grand fashion. An excellent program was rendered In the morning. A parade of emigrants and Indians was tho feature. Tho meeting house was well filled during tho services. Lew-Is Lew-Is Larsen was marshall and Andrew Johnson, orator. Both young men handled their respective roles In a creditable and pleasing way. A new vestry is Just being completed. complet-ed. It Is a large room annexed to the meeting house and will be used as a meeting room for the auxiliary organizations organ-izations The farmers at Covo are busy rolling rol-ling In the last loads of the first crop of hay. They are realizing about a halt crop as compared with former years. ! |
