An Alpine hunter named Hess, living liv-ing ut Engleborg, In the Unterwuld Canton, has had a dramatic advonturu with eagles. A pair h.ij built tholr aorlo In the cliffs about 800 yards abovo the valley, and It contained two eagles, of which Hess determined to possess himself. Tho climb wus so dlfilcult and dangerous dan-gerous that ho had to leave his gun behind him, taking only a staff tipped with iron. As ho approached tho aorlo tho two parent eagles attacked him with great fury, and tho huutor had a seero fight, with his staff as hla only weapon, thu risk of his blng hurled to tho bottom ot tho cliffs being very great. Hess received many c.-Jol scars, but ho at last succuedod in disabling tho mule bird, nnd then, driving off tbo mother, secured the eagles. |
