I'HKS TON, January 2, linn -Xraas .night the new 20,000 opera house was thrown open to the public A danco lor the children was given free, and at night more than 200 numbers were sold to the converts of the "poetry of motion." The dancing social was a swell nITair and a huge success. The people of I'rcston aro proud, and Justly so, of this amusement building, and ncithet time, expense nor dilllculty has daunted the stockholders In giving giv-ing to tho public a thoroughly modern and elegantly equipped opera house.In view of the popular "fad" so prevalent preva-lent at present, the owners and manager man-ager of the building have decided to bow obeisance to the "roller-skating maiden," and henceforth the opera houso will be converted Into a skating rink. Several hundred pairs of skates have been ordered. The new Academy building will be ready for occupancy January 7, at the opening of the second semester of tho current years' work. Teachers and students are decidedly enthusiastic In view of condition that will bo obtained obtain-ed in the future.
