There was a good attendance. The Urst lawn party of the season was given by Miss Lou Hughes In honor of her brother Charles and sweetheart of Salt Lake, who wero up on a visit. The lawn was beautifully decorated with red, white and blue bunting and. lighted with Chinese lanterns. Tho many friends of Mrs. Jenso Jensen wjll bo pained to hear that she was taken to Logan yesterday to undergo un-dergo an operation. Her brother, Dr. George Baker, of Ogden, assisted In performing tho operation. Her caso Is being watched with anxiety by hor friends. Tho school election passed oil quiet-y quiet-y Monday. Joseph M. Sorenson was elected trustee for threo years, Jacob F. Sorensen s term expiring. There was a pretty good turn- H out of tho people of the ward. Wc H had with us President Solomon H. H Hale, Elders John Larsen, Charles H Gosllnd, Bishop Henry Rodgcrs, and H James IL Wallls, editor of the Cache H Valley News, all from Preston. Wo H had a good conference and good In- H structlons were given by the visitors. H President Hale was much pleased H with tho conditions of tho ward and H spoke well of the unity of the people, H and of the Improvements that have H been made lately by the people.
