Show Interesting Conference. Con-ference. The quarterly conference of the Cache stake of Zion was held in Logan tabernacle Saturday and Sunday, July 26 and 27, There were pressnt on the stand during the conference Apostles M. W. Merrill Mer-rill and George Teasdale, Presiding Bishop W. B. Preston, Elders Joseph Monell, Isaac Smith and W. W. Maughan of the etake presidency, presi-dency, members of the High Council Coun-cil aha others. At the opening session Sunday morning, Elder N. W. Kimball offered of-fered the opening prayer. ; President J' seph Morrell made a brief opening address, saving he was pieised to meet the bamts in conference again. Bishop William Hyde of Logan Lo-gan Fifth ward reported his ward as being in good condition. Elder Lorenzo Tibbets bore a strong testimony to the truth of the gospel, and said constant devotion to the commandments of God should carefully follow the instructions instruc-tions of God's servants as they are inspired by Him and will reiult in benefit to us. High Councilman L. R. Marti-neau Marti-neau followed in a discourse on the I importance of the keeping of full reports of all the organizations and (presented them in a plain and intelligent in-telligent manner. Also dwelt at length on doctrinal subjects, pointing point-ing out the manifold privileges and blessings of the gospel- Apcstle M. W. Merrill followed follow-ed in an earnest address 011 the duties of the Latter-day Saints. ' He spoke on the necessity of 1 keeping correct reports in all de- partments of the church. Every ward and organization should be represented at our conferences. The father should keep a careful supervision on the members of their families and not allow them to be absent in unseemly company com-pany and places. T Attend your prayers regularly as this id one of the most important of God's ordinances. Live up to the principles of the Gospel and God's blessings will come upon you. - - ' The Bpeaker paid a high compliment com-pliment to the Logan choir, which, he said, is famed- for its beautiful music. It is a. holy institution in-stitution in God's kingdom; arid should be heartily and generously generous-ly supported, as should also the ward choirs." - - After a beautiful anthem by the choir, Bishop Preston pronounced pro-nounced the benediction, and the coufeience adjourried until 2 p.m. . . |
