A smart little brougham, with a solid, comfortable looking conrhman of the "old family retainer" variety on tho box drew up before the side entrance of the Grand Central station sta-tion the other morning just as a fnt woman emerged from tho exit from the train shed, says the New-York New-York I'rcss. There was a certain amourtt of commotion accompanying accompany-ing her arrival on the scene, for she was attended by nn elderly man, evidently evi-dently her -husband, a mnid nnd a groom, both of the latter servants being ladon with bags, umbrellas and a traveling jewel case. As she made her way toward the carriage the coachman turned his ljead to look nt his mistress, and thero was a broad smile on his face. ''Oh, Harry," sho gurgled up nt him. "I'm so glad to bcc ypu. It'a good to see your face again." Then her face took op n look of deep concern and sho asked anxiously, "How is tho canary?" |
