Show CENTRAL EXPERIMENTAL I STATION. I Early in this year work was first commenced on the ground for the Central Experimental sta-, sta-, tion. Being well adapted for lior-. lior-. ticultitre this station will be used especially in this line of work, both for small and large fruii I trees, flowers and scrubs. In the spring a house will be built with barns, scales, etc., and the grounds I will be hid out. Some of the tests the pastfeycar have been with, fotirtcctrtlifTcrcnt varieties of field corn, eleven varieties of potatoes, fourtcn half-acre plats planted for a commercial orchard for apples, forty-eight trees in each plat. Corn for forage, also oats and peas. The apple orchard for testing test-ing of the spraying of trees, farmers farm-ers should watch for the bulletins giving these reports of same. Also litis with gooseberries, currants, raspberries, blackberries, dewberries, dew-berries, and grapes of various kind. There is eighty acres in. the farm. Our farmers and fruit growers should interest tlieinsel-cs tlieinsel-cs in visiting the farm and get the results of these experiments. |
