Show Election Law. Sec.L Be It Ordained by tho city Council of Lehl City, that a municipal election shall be held In this city on tlio Tuesday, next after the firsLMonday In 'November, 1803, and biennially thereafter there-after for tho election of tho following officers ot the city, viz : a mayor, live councllmen, recorder, treasurer, marshal, mar-shal, collector aud Juetico of tho peace elected at large, who shall qualify nnd enter upon the duties of tholr respective succeeding thclrclection, and "continue in offico for two years and until their successors aro duly elected and qualified. Seb.2. No person shall bo elected or appointed to any ffico of this city, unless he is a citizen of tho United States and a qualified elector within thecttyand no person Bhall be eligible to voto nt nn election uutcss pobsesslog tho qualifications qualificat-ions of a voter as prescribed by tho laws of tho United States and tho Territory of Utah andhaa been n constant realdont of the city during the six months next preceedlng said election, nor shall any person be eligible to any ffice v ho is n defaulter to tho corporation. Sec.3. Every voter sball designate on a slnglo ballot, written or printed, tho namool the person voted for with a pertinant deception of oflloo.to bo filled, nnd ii hen any question is to be decided in the affirmative or negative he shall state the proposition at the bottom ot the ballot, anewrltthereunder"yea"or "no", as ho may desire to vote thereon, which ballot shall be neatly folded, and placed in one of the envelopes provided tor that pnrpose and delivered to the presiding judge ot election, who shall in . tlio presence of the voter, on tho name ol tho proposed voter being found on the registry list, deposit the sauio in the ballot box, without any mark whatever being placed on such envelope, otherwise tho ballot shall be rejected. BKC.4. All general and special elcctlona within this city shall bo held and conducted, con-ducted, nnd returns made thereof as is now, or mny hereafter be provided by j law. Sec,5.
