Show Fast Flyer In Wreck. Harrlsburg, Pa. Train No. 28, on tho Pennsylvania railroad, known ns tho Pennsylvania flyer, tho now eight-con-hour train from Chicago and Now York, met with an nccldcnt Saturday a mile west of Port Iloyal which fortunately for-tunately did not result seriously. A westbound freight train near Port Iloyal tried to stop suddenly and tho engineer made a too violent application applica-tion of tho air, tho consequence of which was that a car buckled nnd was thrown over to track No. 1, on which tho flyer was speeding cast. An attempt at-tempt was mado to flag tho train, but tho break occurred almost simultaneously simultan-eously with tho arrival of tho flyer, and tho train plunged Into tho wreck: Tho momentum threw tho wrecked car from tho track, but tbo flyer did not Jump tho rails. Beyond the damage to tho cnglno, which was slight, and tho smashing of the platform ot tbo combination baggage nnd Btnokcr the train was not damaged. It arrived hero at 8:28 and left at 8:33, two hours and forty minutes min-utes lato. |
