Show Legislation, how it works on agenda of LWV How does the Legislature do its Job? How does a ibill become be-come law? These and other questions will be discussed at the League of Women Voters meeting scheduled for Thursday, Thurs-day, March 15, at the home of Mrs. Leo Cahoon, 326 South 700 West, at 8 p.m. Leading the discussion will be Janet Gordon, who has spent the past two months in Salt Lake doing lobbying assignments as-signments for ISSUE and other citizen environmental groups. In the course of her duties, she was able to observe how legislation legis-lation favored by the State League fared at this session, and will give a report on this. These pieces of legislation ranged from proposals regarding regard-ing the Unified Court System and School Financing to Equal Rights and Land Use Planning. Plan-ning. The League board announced announc-ed that the Annual Meeting this war will ibe held on Thursday, March 29, and will be an evening meeting Instead of a noon luncheon as in the past. Revision of Bylaws, Dues, and local program will be pro-posed pro-posed at this meeting. All members are urged to make plans to attend. |
