Moss, right is presented citation as the outstanding Forward Observer in XI Corps Artillery, by Major James M. Miller. Fastest gun in the State First Lieutenant David A. Moss, Field Artillery Liaison Officer, for the 2d Bn, 222d Field Artillery, Cedar City, was pronounced the outstanding Forward Observer in XI Corps Artillery. During the second annual "Shoot off" Lieutenant Moss won the State wide conv petition by excelling in the directing of fast and accurate artillery fire at Dugway Proving Grounds, Utah. Major James M. Miller represented Brigadier General Max A. Creer, Commander XI Corps Artillery, in presenting Lieutenant Moss with the citation. Lieutenant Moss is a j native of St. George, where he teaches school. He is keeping up a long tradition of excellent artillerymen ar-tillerymen in his family. Having two older brothers precede him to the rank of Major and a younger brother who is an enlisted man, all are artillerymen ar-tillerymen in the Utah National Guard. |
