Utah Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Maurice Abravanel will open the Cedar City Music Arts season, tonight. They will appear in concert at the Cedar High School auditorium at 8:15 p.m. Utah Symphony to perform tonight The Utah Symphony, internationally in-ternationally recognized as one of the great orchestras of the world and listed in the top 10 in the nation, will perform in the Cedar High School Auditorium, tonight at 8:15 p.m. . Maestro Maurice Abravanel will conduct the Utah Symphony as they perform Wagner's Overture to "Taunhauser" and Brahms "Symphony No. 1 in C Minor." The stirring "Capriccio Espagnol" by Rimsky-Korsakov and Smetana's Three Dances from "The Bartered Bride" round out a program that promises to be one of the most exciting Utah Symphony Concerts Con-certs ever presented in this area. Sponsorship for the concert is the Cedar City Music Arts. Tickets for the concert will be on sale at the door for $3.50. SUSC students will be admitted free with their Student Activity Cards. This is also the last opportunity op-portunity for area residents to purchase a Music Arts Season Ticket. The price is only $8.00 for five performances. |
