Show Where's the Fire? A brush fire on Wed., Aug. 8 at 1800 North Main St. burned more than three acres before the fire department had extinguished ex-tinguished it. The fire began when a worker at the Young Sign Company was welding and a spark landed in the dry brush. 21 firemen responded to the blaze which was reported at 11:30 a.m. and extinguished a at 12:25 p.m. Another fire occurred on Monday, August .8 at the Color Country Inn at 5757 S. Main St. Apparently the fire began when electrical wiring became wet from rain and started a fire in the attic. Damage was estimated to be $500. The fire was reported at 8 p.m. and the 25 firemen who responded were dismissed at 9:25 p.m. |
