Show Baseball Fever-Catch It If you've ever wanted to see a lot of baseball action this is the week to do it in Cedar City. By Saturday evening a total of 30 games will have been played invovling 21 teams in two seperate tournaments. A 17-team District Little League tournament got underway un-derway Tuesday evening with Washington capturing a 9-3 9-3 victory over Cedar National behind the no-hit pitching of Matt Staheli. Wednesday the action got into full swing with 16 teams battling for positions in the tournament and today, Thursday, Thur-sday, another eight games are on tap. The champion will be determined in a game to bve played at 2 p. m. Saturday afternoon Meanwhile, a Section Senior Little League tournament will get underway this afternoon. Senior Little League is for boys 13 through 15 years of age. The tournament will bring together the two top teams from Utah and from Nevada in a four-team double elimination tourney. Representing sothern Utah will be Dixie, who won the District title last week over Cedar. From northern Utah the entry will be Sunset while the Western League of Las Vegas, nev. with fivce successive trournament victories to their credit will reprsent southern Nevada. The fourth entry will be Hawthorne, Nev. At 3 p.m. Las Vegas and Sunset will tangle. At 5:30 p. m. it will be Dixie and Hawthorne with the losers to meet at 8 p.m. i I t i |
