I A landscapirg class is being ; offered free to the public beginning February 19. The USU I Extension Service for Iron County, along with the Com-;; Com-;; munity Schools Adult Education, and the , Cedar City t Beautification Committee are all . '. co-operating in the program. ; The Class will take place Thursday evenings between Feb. 19, and March 25. The first class I will be next Thursday night, and ", will feature Lynn Esplin of the ' f Iron Co. Extension Office who will be explaining how to land-' land-' scape and plan landscapping. It I is anticipated that the classes , ; will be well recieved, because they are absolutely free. '. Everyone who has problems with ; landscaping, pest and weed control, lawns, trees and shrubs, ' fertilizing, or various other subjects are cordially invited to attend the free sessions. As mentioned above, Lynn Esplin will discuss landscape design and will introduce the whole schedule of the classes. They include Thurs., Feb. 26, Short discussion on trees and shrubs, by Lynn Esplin, plus insect control by Reed Roberts, USU Extension Entomologist. There will be no class on March 4. On March 11, the class will discuss Lawn management and weed control by Louis Jensen, Agronomist from USU. On March 18, Lynn Esplin will discuss flowers, and then Dr. Paul Christensen USU Extension Soil Specialist will talk on soil, irrigation, and fertilizers. The final class will be March 25, when Dr. Alvin Hamson, USU Horticulturist Hor-ticulturist will speak on Vegetable and flower gardens. The classes were designed to help those interested in doing their own landscaping and gardening. As mentioned, it is free to the public, and everyone is invited to attend. They will take place at the Cedar High Science lecture room, beginning at 7:00 pm on each respective Thursday. - It is recomended that those who attend, take with them, a note pad and pencil, also at Uie first meeting, a large sheet of , graph paper, (approxi. 18" by 18"(.
