Show Funeral Services held for Mae S. Atkin J if i? : j: . 1? s '0,7 Funeral Services for Mae S. Atkin were held March 16 in the Beaver Second Ward Chapel. Born May 14, 1885, she died March 12, 1979 at the age of 93. She was the daughter of John Andrew and Charlotte Swindlehurst. Her father was one of the first white boys born in Cedar City. She married Heber Atkin Sept. 11, 1907 In Beaver and this marriage- was later solemnized i.n the Salt lake LDS Temple. He died Feb. 4, 1946. She was a lifelong resident of Beaver and is survived by a son, Alton of Beaver and daughters Mrs. Arnold (Arvilla) Gale and Mrs. F. Webb (Thelma Holyoak) Barber of Cedar City; Mrs. Lottie Mae Hunt, McGill, Nev.; Althea Utley, Joseph; and Mrs. Kent (Lois Mae) Carter of Minersville. Other survivors are 30 grandchildren, grand-children, 84 great grandchildren, grand-children, 23 great, great grandchildren, and a sister and brother Gilbert Smith and Ettie Atkin of Beaver. Bishop Burton Myers officiated at the services and the program was as follows: Family Prayer, Webb Barber; Music, Donna Cartwright; Musical Selection, Helen DeMille; Opening Prayer, Harold MAE S. ATKIN Gale; Musical Rendition, Donna Cartwright; Eulogy, May Atkin; Speaker, Joe Nelson; Vocal Solo, Nell Smith; Speaker, Keith Ash-by; Ash-by; Bishops remarks, Bishop Myers; Closing Prayer, Cullen Holyoak; Dedication of grave, C. Edwin Paice. Pallbearers were Ronald Carter, Doug Utley, Gary Atkin, Michael Gale, Kim Hunt and Tommy Holyoak. Grandsons and greatgrandsons were honorary Pallbearers. |
