Show Scholarships awarded to Cedar High Seniors i Recipient of the Union Pacific Pac-ific Scholarship, presented by Marva Esplin went to Valerie Hart. Melinda Wilson was the recipient re-cipient of the State Normal Academic scholarship. The D. Claude Urie Memorial Scholarship, Scholar-ship, presented by Lois Wood- burn was received by Elton Bingham. Other scholarship winners from institutions of the state were awarded as follows: Utah Technical College at Provo, Kevin S. Carter, Sevier Valley Technical College, Allan Al-lan Prows and Michael Tong; Brlgham Yaung University, Nellie Gai Hart; Utah State University, Lani Twitchell; and a leadership scholarship from USU, Ann Fenron. As the outstanding business student Karen Beck won a scholarship to Stevens Henager College in Salt Lake City. Forty-one scholarships were awarded graduating students from Cedar High School at the Annual Scholarship Assembly held May 19. Jack Cannon of Southern Utah, State College presented I academic scholarships to eight 1 students including LuAnne Judd, Steven Munson, Ellen Whiting, Laura Hulet, Karen Hamilton, Susan Spencer, Gail Callison and J. R. Carter t -' Bruce Osborne, director of j athletics at SUSC presented a football athletic scholarship to Gene Cardon and the recip-J recip-J ient of the outstanding ath-' ath-' ,lete scholarship presented by ; jthe SUSC Quarterback Club 'went to Mike Rice. Music scholarships to SUSC ! ; jwere received by Belinda Davis, Dav-is, JoLynn Felix, JoLyn Strat-)ton, Strat-)ton, in band and the Halver-' Halver-' 'son Music Award was presented pre-sented to Anita Bradshaw by Harold Boyce, director of bands at the college. J Lady Elks Auxiliary presented pre-sented the Worthy Student i award to Lynda Stephenson and BPOE Lodge No. 1556 of I Cedar City presented seven 1 scholarships in different cate-:. cate-:. gories. Leadership awards I went to David Haight and Sonja Sandberg; Most Valuable Valu-able student awards went to Lani Twitchell and J. R. Carter. Cart-er. Alan Nelson and Joy Pratt I won citizenship awards and a I vocational award was pre-I pre-I sented by the Elks Lodge to I Vickie Halsey. 1 BPW Club of Cedar City pre-I pre-I sented a SUSC tuition award to Carta Prows and the Iron County Insurance Agents As-' As-' sociation presented technical I scholarships to Kaye Lynn j Murdock and Lanell Sherratt. ! Cedar City PTA presented their annual award to Gladys j Pectol. Presented by Mrs. Lor-I Lor-I ena Adams and Jim Hoyle, re-! re-! presenting the Kiwanis Club, ; a Vocational-Technical scholarship schol-arship was awarded to Charles Walker. Representing the Rotary Club Wes Larson presented a ' academic award to Gayla i Bulloch and a vocational scholarship to Ruth Kenney.
