Show Organization structure revised by SUSC council rather than the president. All positions will be staffed by present SUSC personnel. Under the new organizational organiza-tional structure, which becomes be-comes effective July 1, Conrad Major changes in tin- administrative ad-ministrative .structure at j Southern Utah State College i were approved last week at ' a meeting of the Institutional Council. Changes included the; creation crea-tion of two vice president positions pos-itions replacing four directors; direct-ors; creation of a dean of students to replace the position posi-tion of director of student, personnel services; and establishment es-tablishment of a development council to replace the position j of director of development. Other changes included the creation of a 'business manager; manag-er; creation of the position of public relations director, to be directly responsible to the president; and placing the SUSC research director under the jurisdiction of the vice president of academic affairs, V. Hatch, currently director of academic affairs, will become i vice president of academic af- fairs. Tlie former director of financial affairs, Paul R. Southwick, will become the vice president of financial affairs. af-fairs. The dean of students will be Eugene R. Holnian, currently cur-rently director of student personnel per-sonnel services. Gordon Slack will assume duties as business busi-ness manager, and Jim Robinson Robin-son will become director of public relations. In a statement of reasons for the reorganization, Royden C. Braithwaite, SUSC President, Presi-dent, said that "A thorough review of all dimensions of college operations revealed tlie need to streamline the basic administrative structure as a means of improving administrative ad-ministrative and instructional services. "Budget limitations require greater productivity which will permit a now revitalized approach to the achievement oi our goals." Better coordination of programs, pro-grams, a more prominent role for academics, and enhanced opportunities for increased cooperation between key administrative ad-ministrative officers yere also reasons given for the change.
