Show basketball Squad Named ior 1968-69, Eight Game Practice Schedule Set Up lowing week, Friday, Dec. 27, but Parowan draws the opening open-ing round bye and on this date another Class A team, the Kearns High, with John Wood as coach, will come to Parowan for a game, according accord-ing to Coach Jordan. j After looking over his basketball bas-ketball prospects for the past frck during the intramural play at Parowan High School, tfesketball coach Elliot Jor-(Kin Jor-(Kin on Monday night posted a? list of men who will make linjthe varsity squad for the 68-69 basketball season. (Making up the 12-man sjjuad are four seniors, seven juniors and one freshman. The seniors are Robbie Topham, t regular from last year's squad, Eugene Adams, Jerry Robinson, and Jody Simklns, squad members with some upperiece. Leading the junior contingent contin-gent will be Kevin Robinson, a squad members who played quite a bit last year, and the following up from the junior varsity: Doug Robinson, Les "WJpham, Gary Lamoreaux, Reed Rowley, Richard Durbin and Mark Evans. The lone freshman is Kenneth Ken-neth Adams, also up from the junior varsity. , In the above squad Coach : Jordan has less experience but with better scoring and a good defense. In height he djropps from 6-6 Topham down to 5-foot Simklns, but the lat-tpj; lat-tpj; is rugged and a good shot under the basket. The Junior Varsity squad will bo picked this week and bo posted immediately. . Coach Jordan has arrang- cd an eight game practice sea-1 ton which will include games with three teams in the Utahi Class A Division, and which opens at St. George on Friday, Fri-day, Nov. 29 wUh a game with the Dixie Fljers Saturday, Dec. 30 the RiJtis will meet the Enterprise Wolves on the Parowan floor. The following weeK end the Parowan squad goes to Utah County and will join the Grantsville High team m contests con-tests with Springville and Lo-hi Lo-hi teams of Class A. Dec. 13 the Virgin Valley High team comes to Parowan for a game and then the Rams are id)c Doc1. 14. Dec. 20 Parowan on terrains Escalante High at Parowan and Dec. 21 the Rams will go to Cedar for a game with the Cedar High Redmen. League play opens the fol- . |
