Show Nevada Southern Outlasts T-Birds 99 to 96 The College of Southern Utah Thunderbirds, trying to get back on the winning path, were unsuccessful un-successful this past week end as they suffered their ninth defeat of the season, against three wins, at the hand of Nevada Southern University by a score of 99 to 96. The T-Birds controlled the ball game most of the first half and held a ten point lead at one time during the game. At the-intermission, the-intermission, however, the T-Birds T-Birds only held a one point lead, 50 to 49. In the second half the Nevada team caught fire and obtained a 11-point lead over CSU. The-T-Birds didn't give up, however, and with two minutes left in the game tied the score at 92-all and Rod Oliver put CSU ahead with a field goal, making it C4 to 92. Al Wielochowski of the Nevada Southern team made a field goat and a foul shot with less than 40 seconds to go to put the game out of reach for the T-Birds. All Konopnickl scored 29 points in the losing effort, his best output of the season. NEV.
