Show i CEDAR CITY SOCIAL ACTIVITIES By Virginia Webster Iron County Attorney, Robert L. Gardner and his wife accompanied accom-panied Washington County Attorney At-torney Lang Foremaster and his wife to Arizona for a three-day convention staged in Tucson for prosecuting attorneys. Following meetings and social activities in connection with the confab, the two Utah couples spent time sight-seeing in Arizona cities. Guests of Mrs. Pauline Hunter have been Mrs. W. M. Hart and son Stephen of Ogden. Mrs. Hart is the mother of Elizabeth Kay Hart who is a physical educa-cation educa-cation instructor at College of Southern Utah. She and her son arrived especialy to attend the Physical Education Department's assembly which was held last Friday morning. They were here from March 10 to 15. The parents of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Olsen, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Nuffer of Preston, Idaho, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank L. Olsen of Weston, Wes-ton, Idaho, visited in Cedar City from Thursday until Sunday last week. They had arrived especially espec-ially for the birthday celebration of their grandson, Troy, who was four years old last Friday. Wei Ak Avies Two club meetings held in March have highlighted social activities for members of the Wei Ak Avi Club. The most recent re-cent meeting was held at the home of Elaine Southwick with Clair Jones presenting the literary liter-ary lesson. The biography of Winston Churchill by Robert Lewis Taylor was the topic of Mrs. Jones Report. Twelve members mem-bers and one guest, Leatha Prest-wich, Prest-wich, attend the Thursday, Mar. 10 social. The club members and two guests, LaPreal Lunt and Leatlfa Prestwich, had also met on Thursday, Mar. 3 at the home of Iva Jones. An enjoyable les-so les-so on Phyllis McGinley and her poetry was given by club president, presi-dent, Florence Cardon. -MIT -J'- ,,, Home again after a two weeks' business and pleasure trip are Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Christensen. The Cedar City couple traveled to Portland, Oregon, where Mr. Christensen attended National Forest Service meetings, then they visited in Othello, Washington Washing-ton with Mrs. Christensen's brother, broth-er, Rex A. Cole and family, and afterwards they toured the west coast before returning home via Las Vegas. |
