Show Housing Organization Established for Off-Campus Residents An organizational meeting for the College of Southern Utah off-campus off-campus adjustment board was held in the CSU Library Lounge Monday, June 20, under the direction di-rection of Merlin Madsen, assistant as-sistant to B. Gary Smith, CSU housing coordinator. Elected as officers for the new organization were Garth Webster, Web-ster, president, with P. Gordon Jones and B. Glenn Kenney as board members. Two CSU students stu-dents and faculty members will also be named to the board. The election of new officers will be held every two years. The meeting was attended by college and community officials and a representative group of Cedar City landlords. The group was appraised of the responsibilities responsibili-ties evolving upon student renters rent-ers and housing owners. Printed contracts will be used to bind both parties to the observance of regulations drawn un hv the CSU housing committee. Function of the Off-campus adjustment board will be to settle set-tle all disagreements involving the student-landlord rental con-' con-' tract that cannot be solved by ' counseling with the persons in-jvolved; in-jvolved; provide a medium of 'communication with local landlords land-lords and the college, and offer new ideas to help improve the ,'qualiiy of off-campus housing. The board will meet at the 1 direction of the president of the i association. All appeals to be considered by the board should be submitted to the off-campus adjustment board, in care of the Office of Student Housing, College Col-lege of Southern Utah. |
