Show j Winners Announced In Auxiliary's Annual Essay Contest Essays written by Alan Dalton in the senior division, and Doug, las Rowley, in the junior division divi-sion of the American Legion Auxiliary Aux-iliary annual essay contest, have been reported as winning first place in both divisions in the contest In District Seven of the Utah Department, it as announc-by announc-by local Auxiliary officers. These two students, with Doug-las' Doug-las' twin brother, Donald, entered enter-ed the winning essays in the local contest which was held in a special assembly on Washington's Washing-ton's birthday, with the essay subject being "What American-Ism American-Ism Means to Me." The contest was sponosred by the American-ism American-ism committee of the Parowan Auxiliary organization. Dalton's essay won first in the senior division and Douglas and Donald Rowjey's tied for first in the Junior division. All three essays es-says were entered in the District Seven competition with Dalton's composition winning first in competition with eight other essays. es-says. Douglas's essay won first in the Junior division with Don. aid's essay winning third. The two winning essays have now been entered in the state contest. Dalton is a son of "Mrs. Christine Chris-tine Dalton and Douglas and Donald are sons of Mr. and Mrs. W. Clair Rowley, all of Parowan. |
