Show Potential Office--Sought By U. S. Marine Corps The Marine Corps Officer Selection Sel-ection team will visit the College of Southern Utah in Cedar City on March 28 and 29. Young men Interested in enrollment en-rollment In officer program leading to a ground or aviation commission in the United States Marine Corps will be interviewed and examined at that time. Qualified freshman, sophomore and junior students are eligible for the Marine Corps Platoon Leader Class. Under this program pro-gram college men participate in summer training sessions at Marine Mar-ine Corps Schools, Quantico, Va. Upon completion of the training and graduation from college, they are commissioned second lieutenants in the Marine Corps. There is no on campus training, and pay upon commissioning is up to $120 per month higher than under other commissioning programs. pro-grams. Senior students may apply for a 12-wcek officer candidate course which convenes after graduation from college. Quulified women college students stu-dents also may train for commissions commis-sions in the Marine Corps through the Woman .Marine Officer Training Train-ing Program. This program is similar to the Platoon Leaders Class, with training held during summer vacations at Quantico, Va. During its March 28 and 29 visit vis-it to the College of Southern Utah, the team will be located in the Student Commons building between the hours of 9 a. m. and 4 p.m. |
