Show Cedar City Resident Wins Recognition In Arizona Club Show Mrs. M. D. Chrichton of Cedar City won second place for micro-; mounts at the Phoenix Gem and Mineral Show sponsored by the Maricopa Lapidary Club and Mineralogical Society of Arizona. An interest in microscopic mineral min-eral crystals and a hobby of mocntinj the .1 on paper-thin sticks earned the second place honors for Mrs. Chrichton at the highly competitive Arizona Show. It is the first time that Mrs. Chrichton has entered the show. She works with crystals only as a hobby and decided this year to enter the competition with professionals and hobbists throughout the West. It was indicated that judging ii based on specimens, mountings mount-ings and information supplied with the entries. Cards giving information with the exhibits included in-cluded such information as mineral min-eral names, descriptive names, formulas, crystal forms, hardness, specific gravity, description of principal physical characteristics, use and locality. |
